Sniffly

I thig I hab a code. No, I know I hab a code.

I can’t complain, though. The kids stay so much healthier now that we homeschool. Seriously, the last autumn that they were both in school, I was at the pediatrician’s office with one child or the other, every single week from mid-September through mid-November. It was insane! We still catch the occasional bug, obviously, but overall, the family stays well.

So far, it’s just me and Eli with the crud. I got a vitamin order in the mail today with my chewable Vitamin C with rose hips. Gonna go gnaw down on a couple and wash it down with some OJ. And I bought the industrial-sized bottle of kids’ gummy vitamins at Target the other night.

I also got my flu shot today, when I went to the Dr. for a medication refill. He said as long as I didn’t have a fever, it was OK to get the shot.

I have to get it because I have Sjogren’s Syndrome and possibly another unspecified autoimmune disease, but I know lots of healthy adults choose not to be vaccinated. Anyone else getting one this fall? The CDC now recommends them for kids ages 6 months to 19 years old. So I suppose I’ll be taking the kids for one as well.

‘Cause I’m really enjoying not having to deal with sick kids all the time. Might as well knock another illness possibility off the list. They say you can still get the flu after the shot, if it’s a different strain, but the symptoms are milder. Sounds good to me.
