A Korean Slip

So, the boys learned about South Korea in our homeschool today. I was reading to them from this wonderful book called Children Just Like Me. It mentions that 11-year-old Yong Koo’s favorite dish is sweet and sour pork called tang su yuk.

I was reading rather quickly, and accidentally pronounced it, “Tang yu suk”….which of course sounded like, “Dang, you suck!” Needless to say all of us fell over laughing and I had to explain—through giggles—that they shouldn’t use the word “suck” in that manner, and I certainly didn’t mean to.

Heaven help these boys, with a nutjob like me for a teacher…
