Kari has always enjoyed writing as a hobby, and often assisted with copywriting projects while working in advertising as a graphic designer. Several years ago, she began to refine her skills by participating in an online writing group.

In January 2006, she joined a local writers group and met the editor of the Covington News. He promptly offered her a weekly spot in the newspaper. Kari’s slice-of-life parenting column appears on Wednesdays. She placed second for Best Humorous Column in the Georgia Press Association’s 2008 Better Newspaper Contest.

Kari enjoys speaking to churches, homeschooling and mother’s groups about parenting, and is also available to present the Muse of Fire documentary to schools and military-interest groups. Kari serves as the communications director of her writing group.

In her free time, Kari enjoys painting, photography, scrapbooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
